A partner in Colin Biggers & Paisley's banking and financial services team since 2019, Michael has an extensive corporate advisory, transaction and regulatory practice with a particular focus on financial services, banking and payments, insurance, reinsurance, capital markets, health funds and mutuals.
His expertise encompasses:
- providing corporate and commercial legal advice to the financial services and insurance industry and related sectors, including e-commerce, banks, non-bank financial institutions, financial services providers and intermediaries such as futures and commodities dealers and broking houses, payment system operators, health funds, medical defence mutuals, medical indemnity insurers and reinsurers
- regulatory and governance advice in the insurance, financial services and health fund industry sectors, including APRA Legislation and Prudential Standards together with advice to boards on director liability, directors' and officers' risk, coverage and compliance
- ongoing liaison with regulators such as ASIC, APRA, ASX, Treasury and Department of Health.

Michael was admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1986. In addition to a Bachelor of Laws, he also has a Bachelor of Jurisprudence.
