Valentina is a senior associate in the banking and finance team.

She acts  predominantly for Australian and international financial institutions, funds and fund managers, developers, investors and corporate borrowers.

Valentina has particular expertise in debt finance in the construction and commercial property industries, including acquisition and construction facilities, mezzanine, loan workouts, and related property work. In addition, she has property law experience, including advising on acquisitions, disposals, leasing matters and property due diligence.

She began her career in Chile, where she was admitted to practice in 2011. Valentina relocated permanently to Sydney in 2011 and finished the Juris Doctor program at UNSW in 2016, after which she worked as a property lawyer for two and a half years.

Working in corporate law overseas and in property law in Australia has given her invaluable tools and a solid foundation for the type of work she  does today.

Valentina also has experience in restructuring and insolvency law, with an interest in the Personal Properties Securities Act.

She usually attends conferences and events organised by La Camara (Spanish Chamber of Commerce) and ALABC (Australia Latin America Business Council). These networking events provide an opportunity to meet and immerse herself in, what is for her, a comfortable environment and the opportunity to offer clients a rare opportunity to liaise in their native language (and with someone that understands their own legal systems).

Valentina joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2018.
