A special counsel in the insurance team since 2019, Trevor's expertise includes financial institutions, directors' and officers' insurance, professional indemnity, property and management liability insurance.
Trevor advises insurers in areas including director’s duties, regulatory investigations and class actions. He acts as coverage and monitoring for insurers, with expertise in complex coverage disputes. Trevor also has extensive experience acting as defence counsel in litigated disputes.
Trevor advises his clients in the E&O-PI space with respect to a broad range of insurers including national financial institutions, engineers, architects, financial planners, stockbrokers, and mortgage and business brokers. He has expertise in professional negligence, financial services compliance and contractual disputes and is also experienced in property damage, industrial special risks, employment practices liability, and warranty and indemnity claims.
Trevor has extensive knowledge of the highly regulated environments in the insurance and financial services industries, and has often represented clients subject to ASIC investigations. He is also an experienced commercial litigator having conducted complex litigation in superior courts in Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. He also often assists underwriters with policy drafting and interpretation.
In addition to his Bachelor of Laws, Trevor holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He was admitted to practice in February 2003 in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and is also admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court and the High Court of Australia.
