Georgina Wong is a special counsel in the insurance team. Georgina's practice focuses on public liability personal injury claims arising from incidents involving construction sites and other workplaces, sporting organisations (both amateur and professional), licensed venues, shopping centres, as well as occupiers' liability and product liability.
She also advises on contractual indemnity, dust disease injuries and third-party recovery and she has extensive experience in civil litigation, including matters before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
Georgina also has experience in workers' compensation, and work health and safety matters. She has been the preferred WorkCover Queensland panel provider for many state and national employers across a broad variety of industries, and she is listed in the 2018 edition of Doyle's Guide as a leading Workers Compensation & WorkCover Lawyer.
Georgina has a thorough knowledge of all Queensland personal injury and safety legislation, including the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act, Personal Injuries Proceedings Act, Motor Accident Insurance Act, Civil Liability Act and Work Health and Safety Act.
Georgina holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2007 and the High Court of Australia in 2008. In June 2019, Georgina was appointed to the Queensland Law Society’s Accident Compensation/Tort Law Committee.
