A partner in Colin Biggers & Paisley's disputes and investigations team since 2008, David is regarded as one of Australia's leading lawyers in asbestos-related matters. David regularly presents on indemnity and claim management issues in Australia and overseas.

David is also experienced in corporate governance and risk management (including regulator actions involving the ACCC and various WorkCover authorities), Australian Consumer Law issues and commercial disputes. He has advised several overseas clients on product liability and recall issues.

David has acted for various parties called to give evidence before the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption. He continues to provide advice to clients in ICAC-related matters.

As a former in-house counsel, David is acutely aware of the reputational and financial risks which can arise when a claim is made and works with his clients to proactively address those aspects of the dispute resolution process.

David holds a Diploma of Laws and a Master of Laws. He was admitted to practice in NSW and Federal courts in 2000.

David sits on the Professional Conduct Committee and the Ethics Committee (Chair 2021 and 2022) of the Law Society of New South Wales. From June 2017 to December 2021, David was a part-time member of the Insolvency Practitioner Disciplinary Committee appointed by the Commonwealth Assistant Treasurer. David is a member of the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Sydney-based Centre for Digestive Diseases and is also a board member for Twilight Aged Care.
