Connie Chen is a partner in the corporate and commercial team as well as a partner in Colin Biggers & Paisley's China Practice
Connie provides advice to clients pursuing investment opportunities in both Australia and China.
Connie has expertise in international and domestic M&A transactions and has assisted clients with many significant projects in Australia, China and other parts of the world. She has extensive experience on corporate advisory work including structuring advice, joint ventures, transaction strategies, corporate restructuring, FIRB, due diligence, corporate governance, drafting and negotiating sale and purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements, finance documents and a wide range of other commercial documents.
With 20 years' experience, Connie is highly regarded in advising clients on infrastructure, real estate, mining and marine logistics projects. Connie has particular experience managing the acquisition and disposal of container terminal portfolios, having worked on over 45 ports and terminals projects in China, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium and Africa.
Prior to joining Colin Biggers & Paisley, Connie has practised for many years in both Australia and mainland China for leading international firms. She has lived and worked in Beijing and Shanghai and has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating legal documents requiring English and Chinese bilingual legal skills. Having worked extensively on both inbound and outbound Chinese investment projects, Connie understands the key elements required for a successful cross-border transaction between Australia and China.
Connie was admitted to practice in December 1999. In addition to her Bachelor of Law, Connie also has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. Connie joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2018.
